Diet breakfast at camp!

OK, I’ve started the day off right: one egg and a half ounce of cheese on a slice of toast, along with a mug of Lady Grey, my camp tea. You don’t know how impressive this is unless you’ve seen me cook a typical pre-hike breakfast over the camp fire.

Now we’re on our way to Snowy Mountain, a not inconsiderable climb that we’ve done several times before. It’s a sunny, cool, breezy day, so I think it’ll be a lovely climb. I had a banana for potassium and fiber before we hit the road, and I’ve got plenty of fruit along with Zone Bars, pita and hummus. It should be a day of eating healthily while hiking in the Adirondacks… I’m still trying to get my head around that concept!
