Black Bear Mountain

We decided to get some climbing in while we had some light, so we set out for Black Bear Mountain. Orienting by compass, we cut roughly southeast through the woods, traversing dramatic cliffs and generally having a great time. We joined the trail right where we expected, and climbed to the summit. The bushwhacking had taken more time than we’d bargained for, so we turned around and took the trail back to Uncas rather than continue on over Black Bear and up Rocky Mountain.
