Day Two Hundred Fifty-Six

I slept preposterously late — apparently I needed to recharge after all the holiday hubbub and yesterday’s running. I had a few mouthfuls of fruitcake with tea, ate a modest breakfast, and had an apple for dessert.

On the way home from my early afternoon walk, I picked up healthy food at the store. When I got home I ate a banana and an orange, and tided myself over until dinner with a mug of tea and some of Grace’s French peasant bread.

For dinner I had a bowl of bean soup and more bread. In the evening I exercised — not a whole lot, but it was a start — and enjoyed a biscotti with a third mug of tea. Just now I took the edge off my munchies with an orange rather than something more fatty and starchy.

So it was a good day. I’m not happy about the state of my body; I’m anxious to detox after a month of carbohydrates and fat and salt. But I exercised and ate sensibly, so that’s one more in the win column.

    Threw the last of the chips and broken cookies out for the squirrels, went for a walk, and ate fairly sensibly. Small steps, but more than I’ve been doing.

    Also giving a lot of thought to your two prior posts.
